About sharpmeg
An independent write-up desk for display technology, written for people who would rather read the measurement conditions than the headline number.
What this is
sharpmeg.com explains how displays actually work: the physical stack between the light source and your eye, what the light does on the way through, why motion looks the way it does, how panels are made at scale, what the numbers on a spec sheet were measured under, and which instrument you need to check any of it.
Everything is organised into six channels, and every channel has one signal colour. A section pill, an article accent bar and an image tint all carry the same hex, so after twenty minutes on the site you can tell which channel a page belongs to before you read the label โ the same way a scope operator reads a trace by colour.
What this is not
We are not a manufacturer, a subsidiary, a reseller or an authorised anything. There are no products here, no model numbers, no support, no warranty, no downloads. We do not publish prices, stockists, rankings or buying guides, and we do not tell you which panel to buy. We do not publish firmware or DRM workarounds, and nothing here is a repair instruction for a product under warranty.
We do not carry dates on articles. Everything is written to stay correct as long as the physics does, and it is revised in place when it stops being correct.
How the pieces are put together
Each guide is written from the standards documents and the measurement practice, then cut with the material the writers judged worth lifting out of the prose โ sequences, thresholds, trade-offs, transfer curves. That material is set as full-width plates rather than buried in a sidebar, because it is usually the part a reader came for.
