In response to growing market demand for mobile multimedia devices with high brightness, low power consumption, and high color saturation, Sharp introduces the LQ035Q7DH06. This versatile 3.5 inch QVGA TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) offers an efficient form factor, touch panel and outstanding price/performance value. Joining Sharp’s broad lineup of high quality mobile LCD products for this market segment, this display features performance improvements over previously available modules.
An industry leader in display technology, Sharp’s new 3.5 inch Advanced-TFT display demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to providing design engineers with superior LCD technology that meets the needs of next-generation applications. As a higher performance upgrade of the LQ035Q7DH01, this new module features 225 nits of brightness from the six high-efficiency white LED backlights, making it the optimum choice for engineers seeking superior display performance for handheld product design. The new QVGA mobile display also includes a high bright panel with transflective properties and 262,144 colors.
Designed using Sharp’s Advanced-TFT technology, this module is 225 nits bright while offering four percent reflectivity, providing excellent contrast, color saturation, and readability in a wide range of ambient environments. The display also features an integrated touch panel that simplifies the design process by allowing design engineers to include a user interface, lending itself to a greater range of applications.
With both QVGA resolution and the versatility to perform well in a wide variety of ambient lighting conditions, this module is ideal for new and emerging mobile products with audio/visual capabilities such as portable media players, handheld gaming devices and portable DVD players. The display also is an excellent choice for applications that require greater on-screen performance, including PDAs, GPS/navigation devices, test and measurement instruments and portable patient monitoring equipment.
This display panel only requires a Sharp supplied ASIC timing control chip, Part Number LZ9FC23.
“As the market for handheld electronics continues to grow, the need for improved visual performance and longer battery life in small form factor displays becomes critical,” said Kraig Kawada, Sr. Director of Display Products for Sharp Microelectronics of the
Americas
. “Sharp’s new 3.5 inch LCD incorporates high brightness and exceptional color saturation resulting in superior viewing, while also using high-efficiency LEDs to minimize power consumption. It is part of our continuing commitment to offer design engineers the highest quality displays for their next generation mobile designs.”
Sharp will demonstrate this new panel during the 2005 Americas Display Engineering and Applications Conference (ADEAC) at Booth 21. ADEAC will be held in
